Hemant joined Fleet Space Technologies as Chief Product Officer in 2022, returning to Australia after 14 years at the cutting edge of the US aerospace sector across MIT, McKinsey, and Astra. At Astra, Hemant was VP of Product Management, leading development of the company’s portfolio of launch and space products. Over 4 years from Series B to public, Hemant helped Astra become the fastest privately-funded company in history to reach orbit with a new kind of launch vehicle, raising over $450M and going public on the back of that milestone in 2021. Prior to Astra, Hemant was an Engagement Manager in the Aerospace & Defence Practice at McKinsey & Company, where he led a series of engagements over 5 years advising Fortune 100 C-suite executives in aerospace, defence, tech, and manufacturing on growth strategy and product development. Hemant completed his PhD and Masters in Aerospace Engineering at MIT, and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Physics at Monash University, Australia.
