The Role
Fleet Space Technologies seeks a dynamic and experienced Government Sales Executive to drive sales and manage relationships with government departments, focusing on geological, environmental, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sectors. This role requires a candidate with a strong background in government sales or experience selling complex technical products to government entities. Study in geology or environmental sciences is highly desirable. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to develop and execute strategic sales plans, ensuring the growth and success of our innovative space, mineral exploration and satellite technologies within the government sector.
 
Location
Ideally this person is based in Australia, but we are open to global applications. 
 
Main Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with government departments, particularly in geological, environmental, and ESG sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets within the government sector.
  • Develop go-to-market strategy and pricing for Govt opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in government entities, including decision-makers and influencers.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Present and demonstrate Fleet Space Technologies’ geological, environmental, and ESG-related satellite products and solutions to potential government clients, highlighting their value and benefits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Involvement in the preparation and submission of detailed proposals, bids, and tenders in response to government RFPs and RFQs.
  • Negotiate and close sales contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for Fleet Space Technologies.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasted revenue to senior management.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, government regulations, and policies that may impact sales strategies and opportunities, particularly in the context of environmental and ESG concerns.
 
Key Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in government sales or selling complex technical products to government departments.
  • Strong understanding of geological, environmental, and ESG products and satellite technologies, with the ability to effectively communicate their value to government clients.
  • Experience in the resources, geological, or environmental sectors.
  • Established network of contacts within Australian and/or international government departments related to geology, environment, and ESG.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels within government entities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans and achieve revenue targets.
  • Experience preparing and submitting proposals, bids, and tenders for government contracts.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on achieving favourable terms for Fleet Space Technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Familiarity with relevant policy, procurement processes and regulations in Australia and/or international government departments.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with government clients and attend industry events.
